Spring 2010 to Present: Active in Minnesota Women in Film and Television (MN WIFT) as the Chair of the Educational Department: I organize educational events such as seminars, lectures and panel discussions, coordinate development of marketing materials, negotiate terms of hosting with prospective participants, plan and schedule events for the year.

 

March 2010, Italian Film Festival in Minneapolis: Organized and facilitated discussions after film screenings.

 

March 2010 International Women’s Showcase programming – Working with a committee, selected films for the screening of short films at the Walker Art Center.

 

April 2010: Women in Film and Television (MN WIFT) Partnered with the Minnesota Cuba Committee to organize the visit of Cuban filmmaker Gloria Rolando.  We screened her works and planned social events during her visit.

 

Fall 2010 Hennepin County Bar Association and Minnesota Bar Association: I organized and led panel discussions and webinars on intercultural communications.

 

2007-2008 Assisted in teaching a University of Minnesota Literature course, discussed the issues of colonialism, nationalism, wars, political and artistic matters, reflected in art.

 

2006-2009 Film Seminars/Festivals: I worked with international filmmakers by facilitating discussions at Flaherty Film Seminars (Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY and Colgate University in Hamilton, NY), Full Frame Documentary Festival (Durham, NC), and Athens International Film Festival (Athens, OH).

 

Festival Participation/Awards/Production and Directing Experience:

 

Best Acting Award at National Challenge Competition for the film Ashes to Ashes, 2006.

Screening TimeRevel at the 48-hour Film Project in Minneapolis, 2007.

Screening To Have Lived During this Time at Minnesota’s Greatest Generation Film Project, Minneapolis, 2008.

 

Spring 2008: Participated in the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Film Festival (April), and the Cannes Film Festival (May) by screening my film Windows and Walls.

 

Nomination for the 10 best shorts at the Babelgum International Online Film Competition for Windows and Walls, 2008.

 

August 2010: Nomination for the best use of library card at the Quiet on the Set 2010 Short Film Competition for the film Baba Yaga and the Library Card.

 

December of 2010: Produced and directed a film Children’s Surgery International on Medical Missions, winning Honorable Mention at the Filmanthropist Film Project, Minneapolis.

I am Fluent in English, Russian and French, conversant in Spanish.
