Windows and Walls is written, directed, shot and edited by a two-women crew: Luda Lobenko (editor and cinematographer) and Masha Petrenko (writer and director). It is a 15 minute film that explores cultural differences by addressing the issues the newly-arrived immigrants face in the USA.
After making Minnesota their new home, a Russian family gets entangled in a series of misunderstandings that lead to a tragedy. The friendly-at-first-glance “Minnesota nice” surroundings isolate individuals by creating walls of privacy, leaving windows into the lives of others inaccessibly high. |
