Welcome to our website! We hope you enjoy our films.
Percolate Films is a Minneapolis-based video production company launched by Masha Petrenko (also known as Maria Petrenko) as a limited liability company to create independent short films.
Our most recent project was documenting a mission to Chiclayo, Peru, by Children’s Surgery International (CSI). The doctors from CSI perform cleft palate and cleft lip surgery for those unable to get care in a hospital, free of charge. My personal adventure in Peru will be covered in a related project, Waiting for the Rain. Trailers for these two projects can be found here and here. This short version of the story made for the Filmanthropist Film Project in December of 2010 in Minneapolis won HONORABLE MENTION AWARD.
The short Baba Yaga and the Library Card made for the Quiet on the Set Competition in August of 2010 was nominated for the best use of library card category.
The First Italian Film Festival in Minneapolis, MN, used our introductory reel for every feature presentation! We helped get the Italian Cultural Center’s message the attention it deserved!
Our short fiction film, Windows and Walls, is used for intercultural communications training sessions throughout Twin Cities. It was included in the 2008 Minneapolis/ St. Paul International Film Festival. It screened at the St. Anthony Main Theater on Saturday, April 27th as part of the “International Shorts” program. Watch it on imdb.com.
Windows and Walls was short listed for a prize in the short film category in the Babelgum Online Film Festival! You can see an interview with the director here. Windows and Walls was also featured in the Short Film Corner at Cannes in May of 2008.
Windows and Walls and our other films can also be seen at local screenings and Festivals. Let us know if you want to be added to the list. We will notify you of the next show.
